Becky with cute puppies

Who Is Raising Your Puppy?

I am Becky. I am the mom of two beautiful girls. We are an actively involved family in our community.

My youngest was a competitive gymnast for years, then decided to try softball after COVID. She immediately took to catching and we have not looked back. Now she plays club level competitively and I am the assistant coach. She also plays basketball and is a great student.

My oldest is a diva, drama club-loving hippie. She is an incredible singer and has a heart of gold.  She has earned her silver award for Girl Scouts and enjoys volunteering with the elderly and children.

They are both Girl Scouts. I try to be as actively involved in their life as I can, volunteering at school regularly for anything from the battle of the books, drama club helper, dance decoration committee and softball coaching. Not to mention hairstyles for everyone! since my first passion was hairstyling for 20 years. I am the caregiver to our family – immediate, extended, and furry! I love nurturing and being there for my family. I have an open door and we have lots of people around all the time.

Wild Daisy Labradoodles is a family-run operation.

We are extremely lucky to call the amazing community of Mount Airy, MD our home. We have Dad to thank for that! He found a small farm for sale, and we moved our young family out of the city to turn a dream of owning a farm into reality. On the farm, we have goats, chickens, a bird, and a few barn cats who think they are dogs!

Around here, Jeff a.k.a. Dad is the muscle and technical support. He shares in carpool duty and never misses any of the girls’ games or events. (Among other things, the girls both participate in 4H — something we do as a family.) He also works on all the handling and training techniques.

Our love of dogs is rooted in our respective childhoods. Both my husband and I come from families who raised pups in the home. Mine raised Irish Setters and later Golden Retrievers, and Jeff raised Dalmatians. Now in our adult lives, things have come full circle, and working with dogs continues to be a beloved family tradition.

My father A.K.A Poppy, who is retired, helps me with everything from socializing puppies to running to vet appointments with me, or going for me so I can be involved at school. If Poppy can’t fix it no one can!

Jeff’s mom lives very nearby and is our dog sitter when we travel so our dogs are never boarded, the seamstress for Girl Scout patches, and provides an added bonus when she stays by cleaning the house while we’re away.

My mom and stepmom both help me run errands when things get busy and I can’t fit everything in. We are tremendously grateful to have their help as well as the benefit of their experience. We could not do this without the support of our families. We value family and love having all of ours close.

We work hard at maintaining a healthy balance between our passions for what we do and raising our family. We all work together to socialize and care for the puppies as well as our grown dogs and to create a happy and healthy environment for them.
